Our Aims
As a Church of England primary school we aim to preserve and develop the religious character of the school in accordance with the church. The school aims to serve its community by providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers all its pupils. As such -
-
Pupils need to engage each day in a meaningful real act of collective worship
-
Religious education is consistent with the faith and practice of the church
-
As a school we observe the major Christian festivals
-
We develop an active and affirming relationship with the parish church
-
We make appropriate use of Christian symbols inside / outside the school
‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him’ (Romans 8:28)
As a school we want to develop the whole child which means their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
We can do this by:
-
providing teaching opportunities to learn about themselves, others and the world around them, including the intangible
-
appreciating and taking into account other people’s preferences
-
enabling children to use their creativity and imagination in their learning
-
supporting children to reflect on their experiences
