Safeguarding

Our Commitment

The Good Shepherd Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We ensure that all our recruitment and employment practices reflect this commitment.

The safety and wellbeing of every child in the care of St Mark and All Saints Primary School and Nursery is our absolute priority. We expect all of our staff, pupils, parents, LGC members, Trust directors, visitors, contractors and third party professionals to share this view. The safeguarding and protection of children is everyone’s responsibility.

At St Mark and All Saints we view safeguarding as the responsibility of our whole school community and train all staff at the start of each year in their role in this using remote online learning throughout the year to ensure this learning is refreshed and up to date. This responsibility is shared by all site staff from caretaker and teacher to midday supervisor and office staff.

We use an online system called CPOMS to allow all staff to log worries and concerns, instantly contacting the Designated Safeguarding Leads whether they are on or off site. This same site is used to monitor Special Educational needs, emotional needs and any other additional support children are given which ensures a truly inclusive view of the whole child informed by all school staff. This helps us to make sure no worry or concern regarding a child is ever overlooked or forgotten. We encourage parents to share their concerns by talking to school staff or reporting anonymously via our website.

External services, visitors and providers of clubs are all fully appraised of our safeguarding processes when they sign in at the office and there is a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) contactable at all times when children are on site and during school holidays by emailing dsl@stmarkallsaints.uk
